Agile Training

Bring us on-site or join our public courses to improve your team's success

We teach participants how to use agile approaches to build solutions incrementally, get feedback regularly, and deliver value throughout rather than in a big bang delivery at the end. Agile succeeds over traditional or waterfall ways of working by featuring close customer collaboration, small & self-managing teams, and timeboxed iterations.

What is Agile Training?

Agile Training is based on the Agile Manifesto, a set of 4 Values and 12 Principles that serve as a framework for agile ways of working. The Agile Values include:
  1. Individuals and interactions over processes and tools
  2. Working software over comprehensive documentation
  3. Customer collaboration over contract negotiation
  4. Responding to change over following a plan

Throughout our training programs, we cover a wide range of topics under the umbrella of agile. These courses help participants adopt an agile mindset and agile ways of working and are typically tailored to meet the needs of specific audiences and the Scrum roles.

Some of our agile training courses include professional certification. The most popular professional agile certification is Scrum, since Scrum is the most popular agile framework in use today. Agile and Scrum certification courses focus on specific roles including the Scrum Master, Product Owner, Agile Leader, and Team Members.

Our courses are comprehensive, but we understand how organizational structures can differ across industries. We do our best to cater our approach to your unique teams, meeting their needs and strengthening the capability of each member.

You also have the option to select the training delivery approach that best suits your needs. Vitality Chicago offers live online agile training, self-paced instruction, and in-person classes.

Is Agile Training Worth It?

Properly implementing agile has significant payback. Businesses that are not utilizing agile methodologies tend to lack more in productivity, alignment, and find it harder to deliver business value. Training for teams that are using hybrid agile approaches has great payback as well because frequently teams are misusing agile or following a process blindly – sometimes this is called Zombie Scrum.

What is an Agile Training Plan?

A Training Plan outlines your goals, audiences, needs, timeframe, and costs associated with training. Learn about how to make the best use of your budget in How to Develop Your Agile Training Plan.

Who Can Benefit from Training?

Anyone who wants to maximize the productivity gains from agile ways of working should sign up for one of our programs. This is most important for organizational leaders, who would become Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches. Second most important would be agile team members, managers, and Product Owners. Managers and other leaders are often overlooked in training, which is a mistake because they have the greatest influence on whether agile teams properly adopt the right methodologies to be productive.
